Review of These Tangled Threads by Sarah Loudin Thomas

This is a historical fiction set in Biltmore Estate and the village that existed near it during the early nineteen hundreds.

The story goes back and forth with the timeline and characters, so you may need to backtrack occasionally to clarify timing of events. The story itself is well-written and the author adds depth to each character as the story unfolds.

I've been to Biltmore, so it was interesting to revisit each place in my mind described by the author. The best part of the book, in my opinion, is the retelling of the flood that occured during that timeframe. Her inclusion of that event made me want to find out more about it. It is possible the testimony of someone surviving that flood may have been a character inspiration. Either way, the story and character development is well done.

I highly recommend reading this historical novel.
